Projects

This page will tell you about the projects we have undertaken as a school to raise awareness of PSHE, including developing better cultural links with the world around us.

To develop our knowledge of different parts of the world we are focusing on specific continents once a year for 2 weeks as a whole school to learn more about the world in which we are living. We will undertake map work, textiles, food tasting, research etc to learn more about different parts of the world.

Projects in School- Ongoing

Currently in school we are addressing PSHE in many different ways. Circle time lessons occur once a week however each class has agreed its own code of conduct using "rights and responsibilties" as used by UNICEF. All class members have chosen these rights and base their class rules on the agreed statements.

Children in both KS1 and KS2 have an opportunity to discuss their thoughts about school with their elected school councilor who meet twice a month to discuss any issues as a Key stage.

Africa Project- Oct/Nov 07

Each year group has focused on a particular area of Africa and looked in detail at the jobs, education, food and houses that African people have. We found that lots of things are the same and other things were different!
